Week 28: August 17 - 23 (Cauliflower)

This is a big week since it marks the start of the 3rd trimester. Very close to seeing my baby girl. This past week has been the usual - busy with work, continued concern about all things baby, and trying to stay cool. I realized I avoid errands all together because of the heat. It's too hot to go in and out of air conditioning when my body temperature is so hot. Thank goodness for online shopping. We started to get in some of the packages that we ordered, like the changing pad, shelf for the bathroom and nursery, diapers, a little bit of things here and there. All things that make me feel more at ease and as if I've got the house prepared for the first few weeks after little one's birth. I'm very superstitious, so I didn't want to have an early shower, but waiting till 5 weeks before the due date means that I'll have to figure out what I still need very close to the birth. Yoel has reassured me, that we can figure it out and we'll go to BRU the day after the shower to buy everything we're still awaiting. I did have a little breakdown earlier this week when I realized everyone I know is having multiple showers. I doubt I'll have one through work since consulting isn't like your traditional 9-5. Also, most of my family is included in my big shower, so no need to do a separate one. So to avoid feeling like I need to depend on others to fill my baby's needs, I've been using my AMEX to make it happen. We got one of the boxes unpacked this week - only 2 more to go. Still need to clean out the mud room/laundry room and continue to pull out all the Salvation Army stuff. Nesting is definitely nice. The most exciting thing about this point in my pregnancy is feeling soooo pregnant. I can feel a hard spot in my belly which means it's little one's head or tush. She moves, kicks, it's just the most beautiful thing. I really love her so much. The only pregnancy pain point for this week was the ridiculously painful charlie horse I experienced Monday morning. I pulled it so bad, that there was no getting rid of it for a couple of minutes. I couldn't move it and I've been using a heating pad since then. I also had my glucose test this week and since I haven't heard back from the doctor's - I'll assume everything is awesome. Yah!

  1. It's getting to the crazy parts especially in this heat. Stay cool and stay inside. My charlie horse problems started a few weeks ago. Not fun but not a lot to do except what you are doing. I am in FULL nesting mode and it's crazy. I had my work shower this past weekend and was overwhelmed with how much everyone loves this little girl already. I know the feeling of wanting to get everything settled. We are still in draw mode on the nursery but trying to be calm. You will be great and she will be just fine because she has you and Yoel to love her so much already!
