Week 13: May 4 - 10 (Peach)
This was a big work week. It has been so busy since I got assigned to 3 different projects. I also started to think about going ahead and telling my management at work about le bebe. Next week is our company's annual retreat and there will be a lot of drinking, dancing, fun making and I don't want the stress of hiding the pregnancy. I told my immediate Client Manager first and his reaction was so sweet! He was thrilled for me and told me he'll do whatever I need in terms of planning my maternity leave, etc etc. He gave me a big hug and recommended I tell the Atlanta office General Manager in person. I also told my Performance Manager at work this week and he too was so happy for me. I guess that's a huge relief for me, since I hear horror stories about how unsupportive the work environment can be to pregnant women. In my case, I work with predominantly men and I was concerned. I guess times have changed, and if you're professional, establish a great reputation, and treat the news with dignity, then only good can come of it. We also had a great time just me and the hubby. Saturday we took a 4 mile walk (yes, I agree that was a lot!). My sweet husband gave in to my Waffle House cravings and we had to take a 2 mile walk afterwards with our dog to release the guilt. Then we came home and took a quick rest and then walked to the Dunwoody Arts Festival. It was so great! 1 mile each way for us. I am so thankful we live in such an incredible part of town. It's suburbia, but things are still close to one another. We have access to incredible shops, restaurants, and children friendly establishments. I had a vision of me and hubby pushing our little one in a stroller as we walked through the festival. This weekend was also Mother's Day. I told Yoel I didn't want anything because I want to wait till I'm officially a mommy. He bought me beautiful flowers anyways :) We took my mom to lunch on Mother's Day and then we went maternity clothes shopping for me. It's starting to feel like I'm getting my old self back and it couldn't be better!
