Week 15: May 18 - 24 (Avocado)

This was a filled week with dry skin issues, no sleep, working out, going through baby product magazines, and joining the mommy network. Remember last week how I was raving about my facial? This week I'm paying for it in the form of tiny bumps on the lower part of my face. The facialist had assured me the products she used were plant-based and natural. Well I guess pregnancy hormones and overstimulation on the face just didn't jive. I have been applying Vitamin E oil day and night and I'm happy to report after a week, the tiny bumps are gone. I guess this means I won't be getting a facial until after I'm done breastfeeding and my hormones return to normal. Bummer. I need all the spoiling I can get. This week has also been my practice week of forcing myself to sleep on my side (apparently you must sleep on you side starting in Week 20) and since I'm a chronic back sleeper, I need the practice. I'm not sleeping well. I have a hard time falling asleep since my legs are so tight from walking 2+ miles and then when I fall asleep, I can't stay asleep because of the pillows, and constant moving. It's tough since I'm not really able to nap either, so I ask myself, when will little one get her peace to grow? I hope God has that one figured out since women much busier than me deliver healthy babies. The other thing I did this week was start flagging baby products I want to register for. My gf Ashley (who is due in a month) is going to Babies'R'Us to help me register and show me the lay of the land since it's apparently overwhelming experience for mom's-to- be. We're really lucky because so many of our friends have offered us their cribs, rockers, pack and plays, bassinets, clothing, etc. This really lets me focus on registering for the little things like bouncy things, some toys, diapers, bathing stuff, etc. The other thing everyone tells me is to register for stuff past their new born stage since they really don't need that much when they're born. Last, but not least, I reconnected with a girl I knew in Middle and High School. She is due 4 days before me and we've been chatting on FB. She called me this week and it was nice to talk to someone going through the same things. I guess I am officially plugged into the mommy network.
