Week 35: October 5 - 11 (Large Cantaloupe)
Wow! So the recent events regarding my job continue to be news du jour. I officially resigned from my current job with Slalom Consulting. It was tough, but I called my leadership because I wanted to tell them personally about my decision. It really is bittersweet. This company was amazing and everyone was so supportive of me and my personal life. I really am blessed to have the support of so many people. As you can imagine, there is no pregnancy boredom here. In fact that continued adrenaline and focus of work and getting officially on board at KO is keeping me very distracted. They key is to become an official employee (waiting on my drug test and background check to pass) and then getting the Short-Term Disability paperwork kicked off and registering for my new benefits and getting those cards in hands. Then all I have to do is notify the hospital of the changes and baby can come. Therefore my message to my little princess is you enjoy Spa de la Womb because I need the time to get these few things in order. I am not really feeling that whole nesting thing, in fact, I love the baby, but I'm not focused on her at all. I am really enjoying the pregnancy and getting these last few things in order, including my never-ending home to-do list. My pelvic/groin pain is still there on the left side and I also got a flu shot which meant I had a sore left arm and the scab on my right knee from falling last week is still killer. I feel so great mentally and a big mess physically. The weather is finally cool here and it does make me get in the mode of having a fall/winter baby. I am wearing Heather's maternity clothes and I finally feel better! Maybe it's because I have a change of maternity clothes from the usual 5 things I was wearing. I still can't wait to get into my old clothes and my cute boots and coats. I will be finally packing my hospital bag at some point this week. My little one's coming home outfit is going to have to be warm with plenty of receiving blankets for sure. Her nursery is done completely. We have a few things left to get, but other than that - we are all set. Now I just need her to cooperate and stay in there till EDD of 11/9. I even had a great chat with my new boss/old client and he's going to let me start working from home 11/1, so if baby wants to stay in a little later, that's ok by me. Mommy can use the time to truly breathe!
