Week 37: October 19 - 25 (Watermelon)

At this week's appointment, the doctor said I am 3cm dilated and this little girl is definitely coming early! He also informed me of his traveling schedule for the next 2 weeks and he suggested breaking my water Friday, October 29th to get the labor moving. Talk about shock. I did not expect that as my option. It certainly changes my design of birthing. I have a lot to this about this week and either wait it out and risk my doctor not being available to deliver or go ahead and push things ahead to guarantee my doctor. We will evaluate our options and figure it out by our next appointment which is supposed to be on Tuesday the 26th. I have used this week to really transition out my work and wrap up things at home. I'm 85% done with the hospital bag, but I'll have it done by the weekend. I still haven't gotten that nesting/burst of energy so I really don't know when to expect this baby. All I know is that the doctor has painted a picture of it can happen at any minute. It's very unsettling, since I love to control things, but I guess that's life. I would love to attend Orientation on Monday morning and have this weekend to get things done. I would then love for labor to start Monday night/Tuesday morning and deliver that munchkin before the doctor leaves and before he would have to manually break the water. He weighed her at this week's appointment and she's already weighing 7lbs 3 oz. Thank God she is healthy and this show could start at any time.
