Uh oh. I think I left my bladder, appetite and sanity in Miami. I am officially a peeing machine, unable to eat anything, and the nausea has been upgraded to full-fledge vomiting. Granted now that I think about it, the nausea started in week 3, but I could handle gagging, but now the physical up-chucking is unberable. Not to mention trying to take care of bidness at work is not easy. I have to make sure no one is in any of the stalls and do it quickly. The best part about this week was our 1st doctor's appointment with Dr. Randell on Friday afternoon. Yoel and I went to lunch before hand and I ordered this nasty, pickled sandwich. I think i'm the only pregnant woman who doesn't like pickles at the moments. We waited in the doctor's office and I was so nervous!!! We got in for the examination and the nurse, Jenny, was super sweet and helpful in answering our questions - especially since she had a little boy about 10 months ago. We saw Dr. Randell and he did an invasive ultrasound. It caught me off guard! When I saw my baby's heart beat for the first time, I was speechless. It was one of the most beautiful moment and I couldn't be happier. All I pray for is a healthy, happy child and mother. I can't wait to go back for our next appointment. We talked to Yoel's parents later that afternoon and told them the great news! Yoel asked his dad, how do you adjust the family blessing to accomodate "a bun in the oven"? They laughed and were so happy. They asked me how i'm feeling, shared some wisdom, and were just so excited. We called Sharmi on Saturday morning to "officially" tell her the news and she couldn't be happier for the mom and dad-to be. She is going to be a Masi and a cool one at that. We saw Arie, Yamit and Natanella on Saturday afternoon so we could tell them the news in person. We told them that we had a message for Natanella from Grandma and wanted to come drop it off. We had wrote a card and said, "Hi Natanella, I can't wait to meet you soon, Love...Your Cousin-to-be." We enclosed the ultrasound picture and gave it to Yamit to open up. She was shocked and in tears and the news. They were so happy (and probably thinking about time!). They shared tons of advice from their recent experiences and lent me "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" to read for the nitty-gritty details. On Sunday afternoon, we called Talya in Israel and told her the news that she was going to be an Aunt again. She was incredibly happy and was screaming with joy! This was a week of celebration with our family and we're just so happy.
